3 Comforting Herbal Teas You Can Make At Home
The winter season has arrived and calls for all things warm and cozy! Drinking tea is not only my favorite way to keep warm and cozy, but is also a great way to maintain holistic health. Tea is physically heating and energetically grounding and comforting, which makes it perfect for the colder seasons. In addition, various herbal teas can provide specific health benefits.
Don’t have any herbal blends readily available to steep into tea? You may be surprised to find that your pantry has a plethora of dried cooking herbs that can double as herbal teas. Here are some commonly used cooking herbs that can be made into tea:
Rosemary helps streamline digestion as well as boost immunity and brain health. While studying, drink rosemary tea to help enhance memory and concentration. Steep 1 teaspoon of dried Rosemary in 1 cup of freshly boiled hot water for 5 minutes.
When you’re not feeling your best, thyme tea can be a good pick-me-up. Thyme has antiseptic and pain relieving properties. It can also improve respiratory health. Steep 1 teaspoon of dried thyme in 1 cup of freshly boiled hot water for 10 minutes.
Feeling a cold coming coming on? Sage’s anti-inflammatory properties can help keep any sickness at bay and soothe any symptoms of sickness, such as a sore throat. Sage tea is also great for relieving menstruation symptoms. Steep 1 teaspoon of dried sage (rubbing sage is best) in 1 cup of freshly boiled hot water for 5 minutes.
I hope these tea recipes bring you comfort and joy during the winter seasons.
